DEPARTMENT OF MINING:

· Mining Diploma of VIVEKANANDA POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE started in the academic year 2014-2015 with an annual student intake of 60,This course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to SBTET TS.

· The Department of Mining Diploma envisages producing high caliber, fully equipped with state-of-the-art Technology, to cope with the challenges of Sustainable Development in Mining and Mineral Industry. The Department is equipped with state of the art modern instruments and equipments for conducting various laboratory and research work. Courses are offered by the Department in mining engineering by the Technical level.

· Department has very well equipped laboratories such as Geology, Electrical & Electronics and Mechanical, under the supervision of respective Polytechnic Departments.

Geology Lab:

· Geology Lab with all types of minerals & rocks that should know by a Mining Student

· A well setup of Mine Environmental Engineering (Mine Ventilation) lab with major equipements like Gas Detectors, Anemometers, Latest model In-Built CAP LAMPs etc.- First Engineering college in AP having these many Ventilation lab equipments.

· wo more labs ie. Mineral Processing lab and Rock Mechanics lab are in the process of setup.

· Surveying Lab having all the required instruments like Prismatic Compass, Dumpy Levels, Theodolites, Total Station etc.
